Rehabilitation of the Colegio Mayor Luis Vives de Valencia
2019 - In progress
Tomás Llavador

We were asked to carry out the appraisal of the former Luis Vives High School located on the Blasco Ibáñez Avenue in Valencia and designed by the architect D. Francisco Javier Goerlich. The building began its project phase in 1935 according to the information collected and it was a student residence until its closure in 2012.

The constructed area of the complex is 6.285m2 according to official data. It is organized into four floors: a ground floor and three floors (Ground Floor + 3). It has a differential plan geometry in 5 wings: central corridor, east wing, west wing and two symmetrical wings in the north zone.

Windmill's mission has been to carry out the evaluation of the structural safety of the building in its current state and once the rehabilitation is completed, with the expected increase in loads.

The main objective has been to raise and resolve the necessary reinforcements for the new use of the project, trying to respect the maximum heights between floors.
