Given the repeated need to verify slope stability in a multitude of projects, WM-AGE verified the stability of the slopes using the modified or simplified Bishop method (1955).

In this method, a circular break of the terrain is assumed, and the chosen breaking circle is discretized in different sections. For each section, equilibrium is imposed to check its stability.

Based on this procedure, the program performs an iterative process where a large number of rupture circles are checked, choosing the worst as the safety factor of the slope to be calculated.

Once this phase of the program was developed, the possibility of adding different strata was incorporated, giving entry to the addition of surface loads by modeling them as strata at the head of the slope.
