Concretus House in Jávea (Alicante)
2014
Singular Studio

This is a house situated on the upper part of a plot with a steep slope, creating a volume of two floors. Access is at first floor level, which houses the night time and parking areas. Below there is a great space for living and dining, and the kitchen, and outside on the ground floor, we find a large veranda where the pool is located.

The mission of Windmill was the design and calculation of the structure formed by self-compacting concrete walls and pillars of hot-rolled steel, and vertical structure of solid slabs of reinforced concrete, and horizontal elements. The finish of the concrete is visible and texturised, generated with wooden formwork.

Our work included a study of the stability of the natural slope, and the possibility of collapse due to sliding rock mass, low shear strength; and a study at the construction level of structural nodes, in order to implement cappuccinos walls with visible autocompressible reinforced concrete without the appearance of concrete joints in encounters with the solid slab floors.
